Pathways Updates and Maintenance Schedule
Pathways, the Toastmasters education program, is designed to help members build public speaking, communication, and leadership skills. Members access educational materials digitally through Base Camp, the online system where Pathways lives.
Toastmasters is dedicated to continually improving the Pathways learning experience. Our teams have thoroughly reviewed member feedback and are applying that feedback to create an improved experience. As we create plans for system updates and new materials, they will be posted here, along with any planned Base Camp outages.
The goal of this page is to share what is being worked on and ensure you can plan your personal education or trainings around enhancements and outages on Base Camp. Below, you will find current or future Pathways updates.
Most Recent
April 2026 – Vintage Paths
Two new Pathways paths are now available, allowing members to step into Toastmasters history. Basic Training for Toastmasters features a version of Toastmasters content first introduced by Ralph C. Smedley in 1943. The Communication Series: Entertaining + Storytelling includes the beloved Competent Communication manual, along with The Entertaining Speaker and Storytelling Advanced Communication manuals. Both paths are available for purchase in English on the Choose a Path Page after the completion of Level 1 in any other path. Members working in a vintage path will access the classic content on Base Camp, where they can navigate through the manual directly on Base Camp or download and print a copy. Members will earn Distinguished Club Program credit, along with new credentials and badges for every level in these paths.
October 2025 - Pathways Enhancements
Now available in the English version of Dynamic Leadership, Engaging Humor, Motivational Strategies, Persuasive Influence, Presentation Mastery, and Visionary Communication: Members have more opportunities to complete meeting roles and give educational presentations to support their clubs.
This update includes a new section in each level that outlines required meeting roles and specific ways those roles contribute to learning in that level.
Additionally, Levels 3, 4, and 5 now introduce members to the Successful Club Series, the Better Speaker Series, and the Leadership Excellence Series. To complete these levels, members will improve their communication/leadership skills by giving presentations from these series to support club excellence.
Upcoming
We are committed to making updates that will continuously enhance the Base Camp system and Pathways program. We are reviewing the Pathways learning experience and the Base Camp user experience to evaluate potential updates and future delivery and content offerings.
In the meantime, new content is in development and will be made available in the upcoming months.
July 1, 2026 - Base Camp Maintenance
On July 1, Base Camp access (including the Speechcraft portal on Base Camp) and path purchases will be unavailable between 12 a.m. and 4 a.m. Mountain Time (UTC -6) during scheduled maintenance.
2026 – Explorations
Later this year, an all-new educational product offering, known as explorations, will be added to the Pathways learning experience. Explorations are in-depth learnings, each comprised of three projects that allow members to focus on multiple aspects of a specific topic. Manage Online Meetings will be the first exploration to launch and will include Attending Online Meetings, Delivering Online Presentations, and Leading Online Meetings.

For club officers
If new members joined your club during the Base Camp outage, they can now select a path. Encourage them to get started today. If they completed the Ice Breaker during the outage, make sure they mark this project complete as soon as they select their path. Additionally, if you had any other members complete projects or levels using downloaded materials during the outage, make sure that they track these completions on Base Camp.
